Venetian Heritage 2016-1999:
Restoring and Promoting Venice’s Artistic Patrimony

This volume is dedicated to the 16 years of activity of Venetian Heritage, published thanks to the generous contribution of Marsilio Editori publisher.
Since 1999, Venetian Heritage has provided funding for € 7,302,096, € 2,077,156 of which was allocated in the last 18 month.
Since May 2015, thanks to the help of many supporters, Venetian Heritage has financed the following projects: the restoration of the monument to Nicolò Orsini in the Basilica dei Santi Giovanni e Paolo; the restoration of the paintings by Paolo Veronese from the church of San Pietro Martire of Murano; the mounting of the new Samsung & Venetian Heritage wing at the Gallerie dell’Accademia; the restoration of the sculptures by Antonio Rizzo at Palazzo Ducale; the restoration of the monumental benches in the entrance hall of Palazzo Contarini in San Beneto; the studies for the restoration of the Museo Ebraico in Venice.
To promote Venetian culture, Venetian Heritage has also contributed to the mounting of important exhibitions including: Geminiano Cozzi e le Sue porcellane at the Museo di Ca’ Rezzonico; Aldo Manuzio e il Rinascimento di Venezia at the Gallerie dell’Accademia; Venezia, gli Ebrei e l’Europa at the Palazzo Ducale di Venezia; Farsi Storia, Bicentenario della fondazione dell’Archivio di Stato di Venezia 1815-2015 at the Istituto Veneto di Scienze, Lettere ed Arti of Venice.
Venetian Heritage has recently received a valuable donation of Italian glass from the Friedman Collection of New York, which will be permanently exhibited at the Museo del Vetro di Murano.
The volume is divided into three chapters: the first presents the many restoration projects carried out between 2011 and 2016, with descriptions accompanied by numerous photos; the second summarizes the restoration projects carried out from 1999 to 2010; the third describes the promotion, exhibition and publishing activities supported by the foundation.
