Marsilio, Venice 2020

On November 12, 2019, Venice was hit by an exceptional high tide which sadly damaged a sizable part of our artistic heritage. Venetian Heritage immediately launched the campaign #supportvenice with the goal of raising funds to finance urgent conservative interventions on a number of works of art damaged by the inundation, among wich the restoration of the wooden crucifix with turtle and mother-of-pearl foils, by Giuseppe Torretti, dated circa 1711 and kept in the church of San Moisè. The restored masterpiece, carved by Giuseppe Torretti, after the high tide of one year ago, stands as a symbol of a Venice that refuses to give up, that fights back and rises again.
This volume has been published with the generous support of Paula Cussi.
