Venetian Heritage financed the restoration of works of art belonging to the foundation La Biennale di Venezia, in memory of its founding President Khalil Rizk who loved and appreciated not only the ancient treasures of the Serenissima but also Modern and Contemporary art. 2006 was the fiftieth anniversary of Galileo Chini’s death. To commemorate him the Municipality of Venice financed the restoration of the frescoes made by the artist for the dome of the Italian Pavillion in the Biennale gardens. To continue this project, Venetian Heritage financed the restoration of the large panels, which were made by Galileo Chini to decorate the exhibition space of La Biennale d Venezia in 1907 and 1920. Venetian Heritage also agreed to restore other works of art by Mario Sironi, Giuseppe Capogrossi, Carlo Mattioli, Zoran Music, Bruno Saetti and Agostino Bonalumi, which urgently needed restoration. Once the works of art had been restored, an exhibition in Palazzo Querini Dubois, then headquarters of La Biennale di Venezia, was organised. Lia Durante curated the publication of the catalogue of the exhibition.
