Venetian Heritage Award 2017
Venetian Heritage established an international award dedicated to people who have committed themselves, in Venice and abroad, to the preservation, promotion and protection of the Venetian artistic heritage.
In 2015 the winners were:
Barry Friedman, for donating to Venetian Heritage a collection of 200 glasswork pieces by the most noteworthy glass artists of the 900s which value equates to 700.000,00 €;
Mario Codognato, ex director of the MADRE museum of Naples, for having involved artist like Sir Anish Kapoor and Douglas Gordon in the Venetian Heritage program;
Rebecca Cason Thrash, organizer and fund raiser for the Louvre, who in 2017 included Venice in her fund raising program.
