fusion-text-3\" style=\"text-align:justify;\"><p>Nel 1427, fu eretta una cappella dedicata al patrono della citt\u00e0, San Doimo, alla destra dell\u2019altare maggiore della cattedrale di Spalato, gi\u00e0 Mausoleo di Diocleziano. Bonino da Milano realizz\u00f2 il ciborio e il monumento funebre in stile gotico fiorito. La figura del santo \u00e8 rappresentata distesa su un sarcofago con rilievi raffiguranti la Madonna col Bambino e santi e coperta da un baldacchino sostenuto da tre angeli.<br \/>\nL\u2019artista utilizz\u00f2 la pietra calcarea locale per scolpire sia il monumento che il ciborio, il quale conserva gran parte della policromia originale. La volta interna \u00e8 affrescata con gli stessi colori utilizzati per l\u2019esterno della cappella: blu, rosso, verde e oro. Il monumento funebre ha subito nei secoli vari spostamenti: questo potrebbe spiegare l\u2019assenza di policromia.<br \/>\nLa superficie lapidea della cappella era ricoperta da uno strato di sporcizia superficiale e da una patina nerofumo, compatta e aderente che impedivano la lettura del modellato e della policromia.
