realizzata tra il 1750 e il 1755. Probabilmente faceva parte di una seria di quattordici tele ispirate a un\u2019edizione della <em>Gerusalemme Liberata <\/em>di Torquato Tasso con incisioni di Giambattista Piazzetta.\u00a0Guardi decide di ritrarre l\u2019episodio, tratto dal canto XIX del poema, in cui Erminia insieme a Vafrino ritrova l\u2019amato Tancredi ferito a seguito del duello con Argante che esanime \u00e8 raffigurato sulla sinistra dell\u2019opera.\u00a0Il dipinto, prima di arrivare alle Gallerie dell\u2019Accademia nel 1984, fece parte per lungo tempo della collezione privata di Rodolfo Siviero, funzionario dello Stato noto per avere riportato in Italia numerose opere d\u2019arte uscite illegalmente.\u00a0Nel 2020 Venetian Heritage ha supportato il restauro del dipinto la cui superficie risultava fortemente alterata da diversi strati di vernice e numerosi ritocchi.
